ITINERARY – LIVING THE LEGENDS OF THE ANDES

An Epoch Pilgrimage to the Sacred Sites of Peru and Bolivia

Day 1:  Wednesday, October 12, 2016: CUSCO/KORICANCHA Cathedral in Cusco, Peru We will be welcomed by our wonderful  expert guides (our new Peruvian family!) at the Cusco airport and transferred to our 4-star hotel in the heart of Cusco to relax, unwind and acclimate to the Andean altitude with a soothing cup of coca leaf tea.  In the afternoon, we will take a guided walk through the cobblestone streets of the picturesque village of Cuzco (the navel of the world).  This includes a visit to the Koricancha, the Incan Temple of the Sun (now the Church of Santo Domingo), whose floors, walls, and altars were once lined with panels of solid gold, and the legendary golden Sun Disc of Mu was hung from golden ropes within its inner sanctum. In the evening we will gather for a delicious welcome dinner and introduction briefing with Cynthia and our Andean guides. Sweet dreams!  (Airport ground transfers, welcome dinner, overnight Cusco Andean Wings Hotel)

Day 2:  Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016: SAKSAYHUAMAN/CHAKAN  We visit the pre-Incan monolithic sacsayhuamancomplex, Sacsayhuaman, one of the oldest cyclopean structures on the planet!  No one knows how these megalithic, polygonal cut stones were transported or placed one on top of the other as pieces in a jigsaw puzzle without the use of mortar…fitting so precisely that even a thin steel blade cannot penetrate the space between the stones.  Legends say that the gods built it … and when you stand in wonder of this awesome complex, I am sure you will agree!   Then on to the CHAKAN temple, one of the most sacred initiation temples of the Incan Empire.  (Breakfast, overnight Andean Wings Hotel, Cusco)

Day 3: Friday, Oct. 14, 2016: Q’ERO DESPACHO & WACHUMA CEREMONY/MOON TEMPLE This is a full and wondrous day of ceremony to open the way for our journey to Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca in Bolivia.  We offer our prayers to the Apus (Mountain Spirits) and connect with the energy of Pachamama in healingqero and purification ceremonies led by our Q’ero Pakko (medicine man).  The Q’eros  are the “mystics of the Andes” who live in a mountain village high in the clouds, where they escaped the invasion of Peru by the Spanish conquistadores. They are the keepers of the mystical and healing knowledge, and the prophecies and teachings of the Inca, passed on and preserved through their oral tradition. We have been invited to a private mountain home retreat to participate in a spiritplant ceremony under the guidance and full support and love of our knowledgeable medicine teachers.  Wachuma is a sacred plant that has been used in the Andes for cleansing and healing for over 4,000 years.  This gentle medicine of the heart allows us to deeply and profoundly connect with ourselves and the earth. It is used to heal on an emotional level as well as to heal physical illnesses. (Full explanation and instruction will be sent to all participants prior to our journey).   We will participate in a very special meditation at the ancient Temple of the Moon, pre-Incan caves and temples built into a hill, just steps away from our mountain retreat.  On specific nights, the light of the moon enters through a hole in the ceiling of an initiation cave which is part of the Temple of the Moon complex, and lights up an ancient stone altar. (All meals provided this day, and overnight Mountain House Retreat by Temple of the Moon!)

hidden templeDay 4: Saturday, October 15, 2016: CAVE OF SACRED SPACE AND TIME/OLLANTAYTAMBO     Today, we journey through the majestic Sacred Valley, the etheric home of the Great White Brotherhood, to a little known, but extremely important cave high in the mountains, where black basalt alters, tiered temples and interdimensional portals left by the ancient ones still exist.  This cave is the Mother OF SACRED TIME AND SPACE and marks a new era of light. This sacred place with its tunnel system and its altars and interdimensional doorways were built by the Tiwanaku culture, “the humanity that came before us who transcended”.  It is a sonic chamber and a doorway to the Central Sun, according to the Andean shamans! In the afternoon, we visit the ancient citadel complex of Ollantaytambo, with pre-Incan temples built of colossal pink granite blocks and a series of water fountains used for ceremonial purposes which are still flowing!  According to a Peruvian wisdomkeeper, there are 6 megalithic slabs of cut pink granite stone that are encoded with “ the true history of the world!”  The rocks do speak!  (Breakfast, overnight Ollantaytambo village)

Day 5: Sunday, October 16, 2016: APU VERONICA/FIRE CIRCLE & CEREMONY/SUPER FULL MOON! In preparation for our pilgrimage to MACHU PICCHU, in the lunar energies of October’s SUPER FULL MOON, we camp (first class!) at the foot of a glacier mountain underneath a blanket of a thousand stars. This is the HOME of VERONICA APU, a very important mountain spirit and ley line that holds powerful earth energy.  With our guides, we will offer ceremony to the mountain spirits and the universe as we gather around a great fire, sharing songs, music and stories of the Andes. (Breakfast, First Class Camping at APU VERONICA)

Day 6: Monday, October 17, 2016:  AGUAS CALIENTES!  On our way to Maccu Picchu! We take the afternoon train winding through the UNBELIEVABLY beautiful scenic canyons and river to the high mountain village of Aguas Calientes.  You will be like a child in wide-eyed wonder as you hesitate to blink for what you might miss on this trainride through the mountains.  In the evening our guides will brief us in preparation for our early morning pilgrimage to Macchu Pichhu!  (Breakfast, overnight in Aguas Calientes) Sonny's Peru Sept. 2005 1290

Day 7: Tuesday, October 18, 2016: MACCHU PICCHU! We arrive Machu Picchu as the dawn breaks, to meditate in solitude and prepare ourselves for a panoramic site that will literally take our breath away, as the sun’s first rays bring the magnificence of this cloud city into view!  We will be taken deep into the memory of its ancient mystery school, and for some it will be an awakening of remembrances and experiences from an ancient time and place! (Breakfast, overnight Aguas Calientes hotel)

Day 8: Friday, October 19, 2016: AGUAS CALIENTES VILLAGE/CUSCO Free morning for exploring the picturesque mountain village of Aguas Calientes with its thermal springs and artisan shops, before we take the afternoon train back to Cusco. (Breakfast, overnight Cusco lodging)

Day 9: Saturday, October 20, 2016: ALTIPLANO/ CHUCUITO/LAKE TITICACA On our way to Lake Titicaca!  We travel by private bus through the Altiplano – one of the most alien landscapes and the world’s highest valley, with fun stops along the way like the Alpaca Ranches and scenic viewpoints of the snowcapped mountains. Our final destination is Chucuito,   by the shores of Lake Titicaca, and from our hotel we have a majestic view of the world’s highest lake on the planet (at an elevation of (3,812 m) or 12,500 ft!   This is an ancient and sacred lake that holds many secrets of another epoch of time. (Breakfast, overnight Taypikalo Lago hotel)

Day 10: Sunday, October 21, 2016: INTERDIMENSIONAL DOORWAY of ARAMU MURU/ THE CAIRNS: Peru Sept. 2005 149Wilka Puku (or more popularly known as the “Doorway of Aramu Muru) is in an isolated and obscure area of Lake Titicaca known as the stone forest, or the Valley of the Spirits and is not located on any tourist map.  Everything about it is a mystery, and the site has never been excavated.   It is part of a region where there are megalithic rock carvings and the “doorway” is a  pre-Incan T-shaped carved stone portal in solid red granite rock.  Many of the locals tell stories about people disappearing through this door, and many believe it to be an interdimensional stargate.   On the opposite side of the mountain, a tunnel was discovered (now sealed) which some say leads in different directions, to the ancient site of Tiwanaku and one all the way to Cusco!   From Wilka Puku we will travel on to see the Cairns (Aymara altars) of Ukuy Pacha – the altar of the underworld, Kay Pacha (altar of living things) and the Janan Pacha (Altar of the Sun and stars).  (Breakfast, overnight Taypikalo Lago hotel)

Day 11: Monday, October 22, 2016: COPACABANA, BOLIVIA! Lake Titicaca from the bolivian side From Chucuito, we travel by bus to  Copacabana, Bolivia, on the southern shores of Lake Titicaca.  We will have free time in the afternoon to enjoy the beach or take a walk into the small and quaint village nestled between the mountains. It is close to this area of the Lake that an international team of archaeologists discovered the submerged ruins of an ancient complex in these waters between Copacabana and the Islands of the Sun and the Moon, which predates the Incas, and contains a roadway, a giant megalithic temple and a 2,600 foot retaining wall!  Just another treasure that has been secreted within the waters of the Mother Lake for thousands of years! (Breakfast, overnight Copacabana Hotel)

Day 12: Tuesday, October 23, 2016: ISLAND OF THE SUN AND MOON ON LAKE TITICACA! We take a boat across the sacred waters of Lake Titicaca to the remote Islands of the Sun and Moon.  The Island of the Moon has amazing carved temple structures of the Tiwanaku culture.  It is said to be where the “Moon was born”, and was used as a lunar observatory!    The Island of the Sun is the most important island and most powerful vortex on Lake Titicaca. It was the place of emergence into this Sun or world, the place where the first humans were manifested.  There is said to be an etheric city of light that lies underneath the waters, which was guarded by a society of Lemurian warrior priests… (Ruins of their ancient Monastery are still there). It is also the location where the sacred Solar Sun Disc of Mu was placed below the waters.  The people of the Lake say that at certain times during the year you can see an underwater city, which they call “ the place of harmony”.  We will climb to the sacred rock altar, which has always been used for the ultimate step of initiation..from pre-Inca times until today! (Breakfast, overnight Copacabana hotel)

Day 13: Wednesday, October 24, 2016:  LA PAZ, BOLIVIA We travel by ferry and by private bus from the shores of Copacabana to La Paz, Bolivia. (Breakfast, overnight hotel in La Paz, Bolivia)

Bolivia, Tiwanaku ruins, Kalasasaya & lower templesDay 14: Tuesday, October 25, 2016: TIWANAKU AND PUMA PUNKU! Both ancient sites of PUMA PUNKU and the Temples of TIWANAKU (a major spiritual center) were built by an unknown race eons ago, known today as the Tiwanaku culture.  It was built by a technologically advanced civilization with techniques that stagger the mind and leave today’s engineers baffled as to how these 150 ton stones and modular walls were constructed and interlocked, and cut with lazer-like precision.  The Andean shamans call them “The Third World People”, their elder brothers and sisters who transcended in the time of the gods. They left their messages and their knowledge in the stones of their altars and temples, with a promise of their return in the new INCARI, age of light, and the new Pachacute, the time of the return to our essence, our own inner light.  To travel this vast distance to experience the ancient Sun Gate, to walk through the complex of Tiwanaku and the enigmatic site of Puma Punka, and to deepen into the silent knowledge left by our ancestors in  the stones themselves, is beyond words and a priceless and transformational gift!  (Breakfast, overnight hotel in La Paz, Bolivia)

Day 15: Wednesday, October 26, 2016: DEPARTURE DAY, TRANSFER TO LA PAZ AIRPORT With a full heart and beautiful memories of incredible, life changing experiences that will remain with us forever, we say our goodbye’s to our Andean family and our newfound friends until we meet again!
