The Blue People
The legendary Blue People of the Sahara are the wisdom keepers and guardians of ancient traditions. They remain fiercely independent and nomadic as the winds upon the desert sand.
We journey into the mystic of the Sahara Desert for 3 nights and 4 days to enter their realm and see through their eyes. Millions of miles away from the modern world, we will listen to the stories they hold passed down through generations, the songs they sing and the music that they play around the fire underneath the star-drenched night.

I live by the seat of my soul and am often led to destinations unknown and journeys I never expected to take! I wait and I listen. It is the very heart of the sacred earth site itself that calls out to me, and the kindred spirits who are called to join me on each journey are aligned and in step with Divine Timing, not mine. Synchronicities, personal transformation and healing are natural occurences in this realm where time suspends and Spirit holds the dimensional doors wide open for those who are ready to pass through. OUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: WELCOME TO MARRAKECH!
Warm welcome to the amazing imperial city of Marrakech! Our driver will be waiting upon your arrival to take you to our charming riad sanctuary tucked away within the ancient core of the historic part of the city known as the medina.
Riads are authentic and traditional Moroccan homes that were once the estates of prominent families, merchants and courtiers. Now converted into guesthouses to accomodate travelers, they offer an intimate experience into Morocco’s rich historical and cultural past.
Relax, unwind and enjoy a Moroccan tea on the rooftop terrace. The afternoon is yours to explore the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square and soak in the exotic ambience of this historic city.
The colorful souks are a winding labyrinth of vendor stalls with all the elements of stepping
into Aladdins’s world … hand-hammered copper lamps hanging from the rafters, painted ceramics, tribal jewelry, colorful moroccan rugs and overstuffed tapestry pillows lining the dirt floors! The baskets laden with exotic spices, dried fruits and sweets easily overwhelm the senses!
In the evening, our group of kindred spirits will meet for a delicious welcome dinner as we begin our journey into the mystic of Morocco. Sweet dreams!

DAY 2: MARRAKECH TO OUARZAZATE
After breakfast, we travel through the dramatic and spectacular route of the Tizi n Tichka pass towards Ourzazate. With astonishing views of the snow-capped peaks of the high Atlas Mountains, we pass through traditional Berber (Amazigh) villages to one of the most extraordinary red mud-brick kasbahs in the world, AIT BEN HADDOU!
Dramatically perched high on a cliff, this renown 15th century stronghold and UNESCO world heritage site has served as a location for Hollywood films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Indiana Jones, Jewel of the Nile, The Gladiator and Game of Thrones! We will walk through its narrow streets and learn about its fascinating history. Next, we will visit ATLAS STUDIOS, one of the world’s largest film studios. Many movies like THE MUMMY and PRINCE OF PERSIA were filmed here. It’s truly awesome and surreal to find this “out of time” film studio in the middle of the Morroccan landscape! We continue on to visit KASBAH TAOURIRT, an old fortress once belonging to a powerful Moroccan family. Walking through its massive hallways and rooms, it provides us a glimpse of the opulence and regal splendor of the past.

DAY 3: OUARZAZATE TO BOUMAINE DADES 
Today we journey from OUARZAZATE to BOUMAINE DADES, passing through the stunning SKOURA OASIS, famous for its lush green groves of palms and old Kasbahs. We will visit the well preserved KASBAH AMRIDIL, a beautiful example of traditional old-world Moroccan architecture! As we continue along the ROAD OF A THOUSAND KASBAHS that zigzags through towering mauve and red rocks we’ll see many ancient fortresses and charming Berber (Amazigh) villages. We will visit local workshops of artisans and craftspeople making their hand-made potteryware, techniques learned from the generations before them. We will continue along the famous Tissadrine Road to enjoy incredibe views and explore the breathtaking and green DADES VALLEY, known for its colorful rock formations, including the most well-known outcropping called MONKEY FINGERS. We’ll end our day in BOUMAINE DADES in our charming and comfortable riad/hotel for the evening.

DAY 4: BOUMAINE DADES TO THE SAHARA DESERT
This day is filled with exciting stops along our way from Boumaine Dades to the city at the very edge of the majestic Sahara Desert, Merzouga! Our first stop is the breathtaking TODRA GORGE , where we will walk along the rushing river’s edge amidst towering cliffs. The gorge pulsates with incredible colors of deep oranges and yellows flowing into purples and reds! Villagers can often be seen moving their herds through the picturesque gorge, as the 300 meter cliffs loom above. The honey-colored hues of the sheer walls change constantly with the movement of the sun across the sky, making it a true photographer’s paradise!
We continue on towards the desert, passing through Erfoud, the date capital of Morocco and the town famous for its fossils. Here we will learn about this region’s unique and ancient geology and see some incredible fossil artifacts. In the late afternoon we arrive to our beautiful desert sanctuary in the magical desert dunes of the Sahara!

DAY 5: EXPLORING THE MERZOUGA DESERT
Today, we journey deep into the wonders of the Sahara Desert and the Nomadic life! We visit to local nomad families, where we’ll learn about their unique lifestyle, traditions, and culture in this remote and beautiful region. Next, we head to Khamlia Village, a small community known for its warm hospitality and the mesmerizing Gnaoua music, a spiritual rhythm passed down through generations. We’ll enjoy a live performance and a truly soulful experience! We then visit the serene oasis of Hassi Labied, nestled among the golden sand dunes. It’s a peaceful spot where the desert’s beauty shines, and we’ll learn about its importance to the local people.
In the evening, there will be free time to relax and enjoy a peaceful sunset walk in the sand dunes, pamper yourself with a Moroccan spa treatment, or just soak up the magic of the desert as the setting sun rests its colors on the dunes.

DAY 6: RISSANI AND A NIGHT IN THE DESERT CAMP
After a delicious breakfast we visit the bustling Rissani souk, one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Africa. This historic marketplace was once a key stop for caravan traders traveling across the Sahara. We’ll explore the stalls filled with spices, crafts, and local goods while enjoying the lively atmosphere. While in Rissani, we’ll also visit some of the beautiful ksours—traditional fortified villages with stunning architecture that reflect the area’s rich history.
In the evening, we return to the Sahara Desert for an unforgettable adventure! We’ll ride camels for about an hour through the golden sand dunes to a traditional desert camp, taking in the peaceful beauty of the desert as the sun sets. Upon arrival into our luxury desert camp we will enjoy a scrumptuous Moroccan dinner followed with traditional nomadic music and storytelling.
The October New Moon promises an incredible starry sky above as we listen to the nomadic rythym of of the drums around the campfire!

DAY 7: MERZOUGA TO FEZ
Grateful for our time in the desert, we continue north towards Fez, the Athens of Morocco! The drive takes us through the lush Ziz Valley, enjoying stunning views of the palm groves and fortified villages. We stop in the cedar forests of Azrou to see the playful Barbary monkeys and then to IFRANE, a charming town known as “Morocco’s Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture. By evening we reach the fabled city of FEZ and settle into our comfortable riad for the night.

Day 8: EXPLORING FEZ
Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Fez, Morocco’s spiritual and intellectual capital! Fez is one of the oldest and most historic settlements in North Africa and another of Morocco’s imperial cities. It is a melting pot of culture, and we will enjoy a guided tour of the ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old City of El Bali is a mysterious labyrinth of narrow streets with medieval markets that has not changed in 1,000 years! We will visit iconic landmarks such as the Karaouine Mosque, one of the world’s oldest universities, and the vibrant Chouara Tannery. Explore the intricate alleyways, artisan workshops, and bustling souks.

DAY 9: FEZ TO CHEFCHAOUEN
Today we depart FEZ to journey through the stunning Rif Mountains to the enchanting town of CHEFCHAOUEN! Known for its blue-washed streets and serene atmosphere, Chefchaouen offers a picturesque retreat. After checking into our riad, we will take a leisurely walk through the medina, soaking in the tranquil charm of this unique destination.

Day 10: Sunday October 26, 2025 – Explore Chefchaouen
We will enjoy a full day in Chefchaouen, enjoying the peaceful vibes and exploring more of its hidden gems with our local guide. We will visit Ras El Ma Spring, a popular spot for locals to gather, and hike to the Spanish Mosque, which offers panoramic views of the town and surrounding hills.

DAY 11: CHEFCHAOUEN TO RABAT
Leaving the tranquility of Chefchaouen, we travel to RABAT, Morocco’s coastal capital. We will visit the highlights of the city, including the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Enjoy a restful sleep along the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

DAY 12: RABAT TO MARRAKECH
In the morning we return back to where we began, to the thriving and unforgettable city of Marrakech! Soak in the last moments of the city’s vibrant energy! The time is free for you to explore the medina, with its amazing moorish architecture, visit the colorful souks, or palaces of manicured gardens and fountains! Or simply relax in our riad until we gather together one last time for our farewell dinner!

DAY 13: DEPARTURE FROM MARRAKECH
In the morning after breakfast, our driver will be ready to transfer you to the airport for your international flight home. With full hearts, we take with us a lifetime of memories of our transformative experiences, and valued friendships made with kindred spirits who joined us for this magical soul journey into the mystic of Morocco! Until we meet again, much love, many blessings and safe journey home!
WHO SHOULD GO? We are covering a vast amount of territory, most of it wild and incredibly beautiful, and our lodging will reflect the same! Cynthia has hand-selected the riads (some luxurious Moroccan spa resorts, and glamping in the desert) as part of the awesome experience of this journey! Accomodations vary with the terrain we cover and so do room sizes, and you may have to wait a minute or two for the hot water to work. But in exchange, your mouth will drop and your eyes will fill with childlike wonder as you step into a world of lavish beauty and intricate Moorish architecture of our kasbah and riad accomodations, and your heart will melt at the hospitality of the Moroccan hosts and families that are preparing a warm welcome and delicious meals for our pleasure!

We will take a few moderate hikes through breathtaking canyons along the rushing rivers edge; a few long (but magnificent) drives through magical terrain of desert, high mountains and green valleys; the occassional sand in your hair and wind in your face as you climb the red desert dunes to catch the sun as it sets and rises; mount a camel and ride it like you are Sir Lawrence Olivier (well, ok, that may be a bit much, but at least try to stay on it or walk next to it!).
